Schedule the UAG Knowledge Test

After obtaining the FTN, use the FAA's current testing vendor to locate an approved center and reserve the Unmanned Aircraft General exam.

Scheduling sequence

  1. Create or recover your IACRA account and record the FTN.
  2. Open the FAA testing vendor portal linked from FAA testing resources.
  3. Select the correct exam code: UAG — Unmanned Aircraft General – Small.
  4. Choose a testing center, date, and available time.
  5. Review the current fee and refund/reschedule policy before payment.
  6. Confirm that your name matches your acceptable identification.
Do not accidentally schedule a recurrent course or a recreational test. A first-time non-Part-61 applicant normally needs UAG.

What to confirm with the center

  • Arrival time and check-in process.
  • Acceptable primary and supplemental identification for your circumstances.
  • Permitted test aids and calculator policy.
  • Reschedule, cancellation, and late-arrival rules.
  • Accessibility accommodations and how early they must be requested.

The current fee is commonly around $175, but testing centers and policy can change. Treat the vendor checkout page as the current source of truth before paying.
