FTN and IACRA Setup

The FTN connects your FAA testing and certification records. Create it before scheduling UAG and protect the account you will use after passing.

Why the FTN matters

The FAA Tracking Number is a permanent identifier used across airman certification and knowledge testing. It is not the drone registration number, Remote ID serial, or certificate number.

Common problems

  • Name mismatch: nicknames, missing suffixes, or inconsistent middle names can conflict with testing-center identification.
  • Duplicate account: creating a second record can complicate processing. Recover the existing account when possible.
  • Wrong identifier: do not enter a drone registration number where the FTN is requested.
Use the official IACRA website. A third-party course may explain the process, but it cannot issue a legitimate FTN outside the FAA system.
