FAA Part 107 Drone Registration and Remote ID Guide

Part 107 registration basics

Register each aircraft used under Part 107 individually in FAA DroneZone.
The current fee is generally $5 per aircraft for a three-year registration period.
Display the registration number on an external surface as required.
Carry access to the registration certificate during operation.
Update or cancel records when ownership or aircraft status changes.

Remote ID paths

Path	What broadcasts	Operational note
Standard Remote ID drone	Built-in aircraft system	Enter the aircraft's Remote ID serial in its registration record
Remote ID broadcast module	Attached module	Register the module serial and operate within the module path's limitations, including VLOS
FRIA	No broadcast under the specific exception	Fly only inside the recognized area and follow all applicable conditions

Preflight Remote ID check

Aircraft or module registration is current.
Remote ID serial is entered correctly in DroneZone.
Aircraft reports normal Remote ID status before launch.
Registration number is externally marked.
Registration documentation is available.

Do not use a recreational registration as a shortcut for Part 107 aircraft. The registration category must match the operation, and Part 107 aircraft are registered individually.
